Dear Patient,
In 1981 a fresh, young and probably naive physician opened an office in McLean and began caring for women as an OBGYN. He had no history, did not advertise and, at the time, was not even Board Certified. Somehow a few folks found their way to his office and his practice began.
They flattered the young doctor by sending their friends and their friends sent more friends. Gradually his practice grew. He joined with other physician friends and the practice grew some more. To this day, now Boarded and with a long history behind him, he is still flattered when a patient refers a friend to him.
It is hard to believe that thirty-five years have passed. I entered this field because I got to develop long term relationships with my patients. Together we have shared many milestones of life, love, marriage, children. Later we went through more difficult times, scary diagnoses, surgery, growing older together. I hope I have been your friend as well as your doctor.
Now the time has come to move on. On September 14 I will be leaving the private practice of OBGYN here in Virginia and moving to Sarasota, Florida. I have taken a position with OB Hospitalist Group where I will continue to care for women in the hospital on a part-time basis.
I will be leaving you in the excellent hands of my partners and friends, Dr. Samuel Grimm and Dr. Kara Jefferies. I would also strongly encourage you to visit our Nurse Practitioner, Jenna Grimm. I have nothing but the highest respect and confidence in their skills and their ability to care for you with the same compassion, warmth and, I hope, a little bit of humor, that you have come to expect from me.
Life is journey. It is time for me to take the next step. As I do so, know that it is with a heart full of appreciation for all the kindness you have shown me through the years. I sincerely hope the next steps on your journey are as rewarding as mine have been to this point.
With all good wishes for the future,
Jeff
